This policy explains what personal information langkawiweddings.com collects, why it is collected, and what happens to it. Langkawi Weddings is operated by Jon Low Studios, a wedding photography business based in Malaysia. This policy is written to meet the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

Who we are

Langkawi Weddings is the Langkawi arm of Jon Low Studios, run by Jon Low. The studio photographs weddings, elopements, proposals and pre-wedding sessions in Langkawi and across Malaysia. The data controller is Jon Low. Contact: info@jonlow.com.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you send an enquiry, email us, or message us on WhatsApp, we collect your name, email address, phone number, wedding or session date, the resort or venue, guest numbers, and anything else you tell us about your plans. If you book, we also collect the billing details needed for an invoice and a contract.

Information collected automatically. Standard server logs and analytics record your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, and the site that referred you.

Photographs. Images made during a shoot are personal data. They are covered by your booking agreement as well as this policy.

Why we use it

To answer enquiries and send quotes. To plan travel, permits and logistics for a Langkawi shoot. To deliver the photographs. To raise invoices and keep accounting records. To keep the website working and secure. Marketing emails are sent only if you asked for them.

Legal basis and consent

We process your data because you gave it to us to get a quote, because we need it to perform the contract you signed, or because Malaysian law requires records such as invoices to be kept. Where consent is the basis, for example marketing or publishing your photographs, you may withdraw it at any time in writing.

Publishing your photographs

Images from a shoot are sometimes published in the portfolio, on the blog, or on social media. Your booking agreement records whether you agreed to this. If you would rather your images stayed private, tell us in writing and we will remove them from public view. Images already printed, or already shared onward by resorts or third parties, cannot always be recalled.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. It is shared only with the providers who help run the business: web host, email provider, online gallery and delivery platform, payment gateway, accounting software, album and print suppliers, and, where a shoot requires it, the resort or venue handling your booking. Each receives only what is needed. We also disclose data where the law or a court order requires it.

Some providers store data outside Malaysia. Where that happens we choose providers applying comparable protection.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Booking records, contracts and invoices are kept for seven years for tax and accounting. Delivered galleries stay online for at least 12 months. Original camera files are archived as storage allows and are not guaranteed beyond the delivery period in your agreement.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for basic functions, caching and traffic measurement. You can block or delete them in your browser. Parts of the site may stop working if you do.

Security

Galleries and files sit behind password or link protected accounts, and the site runs over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute safety, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you may request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask for corrections, ask us to limit how we use it, or withdraw consent. Write to info@jonlow.com and we will respond within 21 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Commissioner of Malaysia.

Children

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian involved.

Changes

This policy may be updated. The date at the top shows the current version.
